Which Smoulder to wear?
Eye shadow is the perfect way to complete a simple make-up look and its application needn’t be time-consuming, complex or involve purchasing endless eye shadow palettes (of which you only end up using two colours).
In fact eye shadow doesn’t get much easier than choosing and using from our award-winning i-smoulder range.
Each carefully colour-matched dual-ended shadow and liner pencils are both travel proof and novice proof and in some colour combinations, the ideal way for those of us who are not professionals to get a neat smokey eye. All that’s left to do is pick your favourite colour!
We think nothing beats experimenting and making your own colour choices, however, if you’d like a little guidance as to what might suit you best or if buying for a gift, we’ve put together our recommendations for which smoulder to choose to complement your eye colour.
Blue/Grey Eyes - If you are looking for gentle and understated eye shadow, baby pink works really well with a blue eye because of the pinkish red undertone. Plus the grey liner subtly brings out the cool tones of your eyes.
Green Eyes - When it comes to light green eyes, pink shadow also easily reigns supreme. Cute girly feminine shades can also tone down a complicated outfit.
Hazel/Brown Eyes Brown eyes are generally quite deep and rich in colour and these can be really accentuated with olive green. Use the paler green to create the base and then the darker green can be used to create a beautiful contour shade.
Green Eyes Should you wear green with green? We vote yes if you really want your eyes to be accentuated as a feature.
Blue Eyes If your outfit is extremely colourful or a colour clash shadow wouldn't really match, then you can make your blue eyes look more intense with blue on blue.
Brown eyes Make the maximum impact at formal occasions by wearing a rich jewel tone such as Sapphire blue.
Blue/Grey -Although there are almost no right or wrong colours for your eyes, if you want to go for a brown eye then a more metallic colour will really emphasise your gaze. The warmth of the brown will contrast the coolness in your eyes and the light-reflecting finish on a more metallic shade will take the drama a step further. This colour also works very well with red hair.
Brown eyes If you choose to match your brown eye shadow to your brown eyes choose a shade that is more intense than your own eye colour to add more depth and impact.
i-smoulder Charcoal (very limited line)
Blue Eyes If your outfit is extremely colourful or a colour clash shadow wouldn't really match, then you can make your blue eyes look more intense and smokey with neutral shadows such as charcoal.
Blue-grey/Green This colour is all about contrast and will really make your eyes ‘pop’. A fantastic bright colour for the summer and when you really want to make a statement.
Brown For the maximum amount of impact for more formal occasions purple can be a great colour for brown eyes. Use the lighter tone of the smoulder shadow as a base and then blend in the darker liner in the inner and outer corners of your eyes, as well as the waterline.
How to Smoulder
- First, line the top of your eye with the liner of your choice, taking the product across lid just above the lash line with a series of small strokes – Remember the fantastic thing about this product is that your line doesn’t have to be perfect – try to keep your eye open if you need to see where you are placing the product.
- Next use the sponge applicator with the cream shadow to blend upwards towards the crease of the eye.
- If you are creating a Smokey eye remember that the colour is most intense near the lash line and can fade outwards in a haze of gorgeous colour.
- If you are looking for a high impact, repeat the process on the lower lash line.
- For even more drama reline the upper lid once more for stronger colour.
- Finally add a coat of i-flutter to your lashes to complete your eye look!
